Cadalay cadalaysohay@gmail.com
Over the course of time, scholars have engaged in multifaceted inquiries into the realm of language, in order to explain its origin, describe its development and changes, analyze its relationship with other sciences and recognize its importance to daily activities. Within linguistic discourse and documentation, a notable focus emerges on the nuanced levels of language usage, particularly the informal expressions that permeate everyday conversations. This study explored the colloquial verbal expressions of Meranaw teenagers in the contemporary era, employing a descriptive research design focused on junior high school students from Mindanao State University (MSU) - Marawi City, specifically MSU-ILS (Integrated Laboratory School), MSU-UTC (University Training Center), and MSU-LNCAT (Lanao National College of Arts and Trades). Through self-made structured questionnaire and interview, the findings reveal that teenagers, as observed, adeptly wield words through various processes like coinage, compounding, blending, and more. Their dynamic use of language reflects a rapidly evolving linguistic landscape, driven by innovation and usage. The creation of colloquial expressions, often originating playfully, contributes to the formation of colloquialisms. Notably, slang terms either fade or endure, influencing mainstream lexicons. Additionally, the study underscores the significance of multilingualism among young Meranaw speakers. They seamlessly navigate between Meranaw, English, and Tagalog, even incorporating Arabic, Korean, and Japanese. This linguistic flexibility, expressed through code-switching within sentences, reflects the diverse linguistic environment shaped by both community ties and peer influences. With all these recurring dynamism, the study recommends efforts to strengthen the Meranaw language, addressing language moribundity concerns for the new generation. Further research on grammar, orthography, and linguistic features is suggested for comprehensive language planning and development, contributing to a deeper understanding of Meranaw teenagers' discourse and recent language developments.
2025-10-28T23:49:54+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Randwick International of Social Science Journal https://www.randwickresearch.com/index.php/rissj/article/view/1219 Work Experience as a Determinant of Salary Growth in Malaysia 2025-10-29T00:00:07+00:00 Nurmarni Athirah Abdul Wahid nurmarni@uitm.edu.my Sharifah Norhuda Syed Wahid sha_norhuda@uitm.edu.my Yusharina Yusof yusharina@uitm.edu.my
ABSTRACT

Identifying the factors that influence salary progression is critical for examining employment market dynamics and income distribution. Work experience is often a key factor in shaping career development and long-term earnings. This study examines at the association between years of work experience and monthly salary among 96 Malaysian workers aged 18 to 57. Descriptive findings reveal that more than 80% of respondents earn less than RM6,000 per month, with the majority in their early to mid-career stages. Correlation analysis revealed a strong and statistically significant relationship between experience and salary (ρ = 0.752, p-value < 0.05). Regression results indicated that every additional year of experience leads to an average increase of RM222 in monthly salary, which accounts for 56.6% of the variation in earnings. The findings highlight the importance of experience in driving salary growth, while also highlighting disparities by employment sector, marital status, and residential area. Overall, the study demonstrates that Malaysian salaries are determined by both individual career development and broader social and economic conditions.
2025-10-28T23:58:39+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Randwick International of Social Science Journal https://www.randwickresearch.com/index.php/rissj/article/view/1237 The Core Role, Challenges, and Future Trends of Stablecoins in DeFi Lending Platforms 2025-10-30T01:45:08+00:00 Deng Ke ningxiaohua916@126.com
Decentralized finance (DeFi) lending platforms have rapidly evolved within financial markets, with stablecoins playing a pivotal role in these ecosystems by providing price stability and enhancing capital efficiency. This study aimed to explore the effects of English-dubbed Korean movies on the viewing comprehension of intermediate pupils. Specifically, it sought to assess the level of viewing comprehension, identify the positive and negative effects of Korean movies, and examine the cultural elements these movies present and their influence on comprehension. The researchers employed a Descriptive-Correlation design which surveyed 20 intermediate pupils who were shown three different genres of English-dubbed Korean movies. Following the screenings, the students completed a movie analysis questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Frequency and Percentages, as well as Chi-Square statistical tests to determine any significant relationships. The findings revealed that the socio-economic profiles of the respondents did not significantly relate to their viewing comprehension levels. Additionally, there was no significant correlation between the movie genres and the pupils' comprehension. The study recommends allowing sufficient time for further testing and suggests utilizing the private high school’s Audio-Visual Room to minimize distractions and enhance the viewing experience. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on media and education by highlighting how popular media, specifically English-dubbed Korean films, can serve as a tool for engaging students in language development and comprehension activities.
2025-11-03T20:07:43+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Randwick International of Social Science Journal https://www.randwickresearch.com/index.php/rissj/article/view/1231 Factors Influencing the Growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Afghanistan: A Case Study of Parwan Province 2025-11-04T05:13:12+00:00 Mohammad Mahfoz Faqiri m.mahfozfaqiri@yahoo.com Mohammad Omar Lutfy lutfy114@gmail.com Mohammad Faisal Neizi lutfy114@gmail.com
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) serve as pivotal engines of sustainable economic development, employment generation, and innovation diffusion. Their lean organizational structures, operational flexibility, and relatively low capital requirements render them highly effective in poverty alleviation and social empowerment. In Afghanistan, promoting SME growth constitutes a strategic pathway for economic reconstruction and societal resilience. This study employs a descriptive-survey design to investigate the key determinants of SME expansion in Parwan province. Data were collected from 322 active enterprises and analyzed through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). The results highlight eight principal growth drivers: innovation and production productivity, workforce competencies, institutional support and legal framework, managerial and leadership capabilities, technological and logistical infrastructure, financial performance and management, human capital and technological capacity, and preparedness for external competition. Targeted enhancement of these factors can equip policymakers with actionable insights to formulate evidence-based strategies, fostering sustainable and resilient SME driven economic growth in the region.
2025-10-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Randwick International of Social Science Journal https://www.randwickresearch.com/index.php/rissj/article/view/1227 Manga Simoket: The Sequence of Conflict in the Meranaw Epic Darangen 2025-11-04T05:31:33+00:00 Hammim Casan casanhammim@gmail.com
This study critically analyzes Volume 1 of the Meranaw epic Darangen as a narrative of peace woven through structured sequences of conflict. The epic is not just a literary artifact, but a reflection of a dynamic cultural construct based on Meranaw values like maratabat (honor), kinship, and leadership. Using critical discourse analysis, this study reveals that conflicts ranging from absent leadership and unmarried king to dishonesty and damaged reputation are not arbitrary but serve as moral elements on the journey of peace in the Meranaw community today. These conflicts are settled using traditional mechanisms that parallel modern Meranaw practices like totonganaya (kinship) and agama justice systems that shed light on an indigenous conflict resolution logic that is relevant to the Meranaw people today. This also fills a gap in Meranaw studies by focusing and analyzing the sequence of conflicts in relation to the current realities of the Meranaw people like rido and maratabat. The findings also show that the epic provides not only literary and cultural significance, but also frameworks for addressing conflicts in the Meranaw community today. Finally, this study repositions the epic as a living socio-cultural archive and a moral compass which demonstrates that within its verses exist essential means for peacebuilding, leadership, and cultural preservation despite the challenges of the present-day Meranaw community.
2025-10-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Randwick International of Social Science Journal https://www.randwickresearch.com/index.php/rissj/article/view/1238 The Role of Durand Line Dispute in Shaping Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations 2025-11-04T07:45:57+00:00 Samiullah Kakar samiullahkakar97@gmail.com
The Durand line is 2,240Km long and lies between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The British Indian government and then Amir Abdur Rahman of Afghanistan agreed in 1893. their future Afghan rulers renewed the treaty in 1905,1919 and again in 1930 However, After Pakistan gained independence in 1947, Afghanistan made a U-turn and declared that the Durand line was never an international border. The territory up to the Indus River Afghanistan claims as part of its empire during Ahmad Shah Abdali in the 18th century, which Pakistan wholly denies on legal and historical grounds. The Durand line has been a central issue in the contentious relationship between the two countries. Afghanistan’s refusal to recognize the border has strengthened demands for Pashtunistan which seems to threaten Pakistan’s integrity. The hostility has led to serious security problems for Pakistan, particularly since India is threatened from the east. The rule by the Taliban (1997-2001) led to temporary cooperation but relations have remained tense since then. This paper aims to analyze how the Durand line dispute shaped Pakistan-Afghanistan relations and which factors contributed to the dispute's shaping of the relations.
2025-10-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Randwick International of Social Science Journal https://www.randwickresearch.com/index.php/rissj/article/view/1239 Black Lives Matter: Slavery Era and Contemporary Racial Experiences in African American Standup Humour 2025-11-04T18:07:32+00:00 Idowu James Adekunle ijadekunle9@hotmail.com
Black Lives Matter is a significant contemporary issue, particularly in the United States. Its roots trace back to the era of slavery and continue into the present day. Black individuals have long faced systemic violence, sexual assault, racial killings, and various forms of discrimination that have historically marginalized them. These persistent struggles have contributed to the socioeconomic disenfranchisement of Black communities in the United States. The Black Lives Matter movement emerged as a response, advocating for the liberation of Black people from political, social, and economic oppression—both within the U.S. and globally. While previous studies have explored the movement through prose, poetry, drama, and journalism, few have examined its narratives through the lens of stand-up comedy. This study seeks to analyze how Black Lives Matter is represented in stand-up performances as a form of social commentary aimed at promoting the sociopolitical and economic emancipation of Black people in the United States. Recorded performances by African American comedian, Chris Rock, are examined. The analysis applies Schechner’s performance theory to uncover deeper meanings within the performances. Data were interpreted using both performance and literary analysis techniques.
2025-11-04T18:06:19+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Randwick International of Social Science Journal https://www.randwickresearch.com/index.php/rissj/article/view/1240 Analysis of Factors That Influence Consumers in Shopping for Fresh Vegetables in Traditional Markets in Jambi City 2025-11-06T09:53:42+00:00 Saidin Nainggolan saidinnainggolan9@hotmail.com Nanang Saffudin nasaffudin2@gmail.com Viona Nainggolan vinainggolan2@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the factors influencing consumer behavior in purchasing fresh vegetables in traditional markets in Jambi City.
